Week of November 18

Beginning Orchestra--This week we continue to work with sheet music and independent parts. New skills–string crossings, double stops. Work on Elevator and Escalator patterns as we continue to learn the notes on the fingerboard. Practice your note reading in the Essential Elements book. We are working on sheet music–Good King Wenceslas, Holiday Bells, Fiddles on Fire & Fiddling A’Round

Philharmonia Orchestra– We will work on tone exercises, scales, and music in class. Keep practicing concert music–Winter Milky Way, Charlie Brown Christmas, & Concerto Grosso. Be sure to practice a minimum of 120 minute each week and submit on Charms.

Philharmonia (First block)–Continue to review concert music as well as scales and arpeggios each day. Good King Wenceslas, Holiday Bells, Winter Milky Way, & Charlie Brown Christmas.

We will start to do small ensembles with the Brandenburg and exercises from pages 20-21 in the Essential Techniques book 3. Be sure to practice a minimum of 120 minute each week and submit on Charms. We will complete concert reviews later in the week after the concert, and we will begin new music.

The concert is October 14. Girls, remember to get dresses hemmed and purchase black shoes for the concert.  Boys, remember to pick up your tuxedo and purchase black socks for the concert. We will complete concert reviews later in the week after the concert, and we will begin new music.

We will complete concert reviews later in the week after the concert, and we will begin new music.
